My name is Janet Liesemer and this is my artist blog. This is new territory for me. I have always wanted to have a blog and secretly have always wanted to write. I don’t necessarily know how to do this but hey, that has never stopped me before.

A Whole New World

With this new age of social media, artists are being stretched beyond the canvas. and the palette to promote their work, to explain their work, and to interact with you…their audience.

Therefore for my first post, I am introducing what this blog will provide and a plan of how I think you and I can get to know each other better.

Each week I plan to add a new post to this blog that will include pictures, videos, and along with some humour, will highlight the ups and downs of my art process.

Stages Of My Work

I will show you works that are in progress and new work that has been delivered to Loft Gallery. I will tell you the stories behind the artwork.

In some posts, I may offer advice on how to hang your artwork, and how to buy artwork and hopefully, it will bring new insight on how the art process works.

Finally, I will also share some epic fails. A side of art that most artists prefe not share but heh, without the fails you don’t appreciate the successes.

A New Exciting Chapter

Additionally, I will be writing about a new chapter in my life. As a result of my husband recently retiring, I am entering a new phase of my art career. With more flexibility, we will now be travelling more. As I have not retired, this will be a new challenge for me in doing art while on the road. Here, I plan to share my experience with you through photos, journalling and video.

Inspiring Creativity In Others

Most of all I would like to inspire you with your own creative journey as I truly believe that we are all born creative beings. For some, it may be cooking, for others, it may be music or gardening. Whatever your creative channel is I hope that my honest and open blog will encourage you to find time to nurture that creative side and inspire you to new beginnings.
