Join Canadian artist Janet Liesemer for an authentic Italian experience while painting the beautiful Tuscan landscape in acrylic, watercolour and ink. We will be located in the historic Chianti Region of Tuscany. Any level of painter is welcome! Learn a new technique each day such as palette knife painting to watercolour and ink sketching. Nearby excursions will inspire more painting, while enjoying the medieval and Renaissance art and architecture. Plein air or open air painting, fine dining and the hospitality of your hosts combine to provide guests with a memorable experience. If you have always wanted to see Italy but were afraid to travel alone, or didn’t know where to go, this is the trip for you. Everything is arranged for you. Arrive, relax and get ready to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
The workshop fee includes: 7 nights accommodation, meals (excluding lunch in
Florence and Siena), art instruction, art supplies, equipment and transportation to and from Florence airport and field trips. The fee does not include airfare or travel/medical insurance, You are free to follow our program or to work at your own pace.
WHO CAN COME?
Anyone! Non-painters are welcome to accompany artists at a slightly discounted rate. Car rental is recommended for non-painters.

The Villa
Podere Patrignone is a beautiful historic 14th Century farm estate or ‘podere’ which has been lovingly and tastefully restored. Patrignone is set on top of its own hill reached by a long, winding private road through 150 acres of forest, olives and vines, with uninterrupted 360-degree views over the Tuscan landscape and valley below. It is the perfect setting for peaceful walks, sunbathing, cycling and exploring. The Villa has a lovely pool with one of the best vistas in Tuscany. Discover the large Terracotta Terrace where you can sit out while enjoying a glass of Vernaccia or a meal. Watch the amazing sunset over the towers of San Gimignano and the snow-capped Apennines on the horizon. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with either a King, Double or Twin beds. Artist price for this incredible week is €2200.00
Non-artist (accompanying spouse or friend) price is €1900.00.
The fee does not include airfare or required insurance.
